How to grow Mulato bell pepper plants

Mulato peppers are inherited peppers that can be grown in a pot or in the garden like any other bell pepper . However, as they are rare in garden centers, most growers will have to ask for seeds from a friend or a special supplier.
It takes about 76 days for mulato bell pepper seeds to mature. Seeds can be planted indoors 8 to 10 weeks before the last frost date in your area. Plant the seeds at ¼ cm deep in sandy loamy soil with good drainage . Since young bell pepper plants can be tender, be sure to harden the seedlings before planting them outdoors.
Growing mulatto bell pepper does not require more care than any other garden pepper plant. Although the peppers are relatively free of pests, aphids can sometimes be a problem , as well as fungal disorders in excessively wet areas. Mulatto peppers will produce more fruit in areas or seasons where they experience hot, dry, sunny days and cool, dry nights.
