FECOART Hervas. Fair of Ecological and Artisan Products

We have already talked in some other post about the importance of spreading Organic Agriculture and Food to achieve a more sustainable planet and a healthier lifestyle. The celebration of markets, fairs or meetings such as Biofach or the Green Cities in the World conference, of which we have already made you a participant, are key in this «informative mission».

From Agrohuerto we want to continue participating in this important «mission», that’s why today I present a new event!

It will take place this summer in the municipality of Hervás, in Cáceres (Spain).

What is FECOART?

This is the Exhibition-Market of Ecological and Artisan products from Spain and Portugal: FECOART HERVÁS 2014, which will take place on August 8, 9 and 10.

If you have a few days off in August and you have the opportunity, I recommend that you pay a visit to this Extremaduran town, surrounded by beautiful landscapes, and whose streets and historic buildings, such as the Jewish quarter or the Castillo Church of Santa María de Aguas Alive, they made it possible for Hervás to be declared a Historic-Artistic Site on February 13, 1969.

FECOART 2014 will be held in the Municipal Sports Pavilion of Hervás (C/ del Polideportivo), in the center of the Villa, and access to the facilities will have a symbolic price: €1. In addition, a percentage of the proceeds from the box office will go to one of the food banks in the region.

In addition to enjoying this emblematic Spanish place that is the Villa de Hervás, you will be able to discover first-hand products and services of our land that are respectful of the environment, ecology and traditional practices, such as products for the practice of Ecological Agriculture (fertilizers, substrates…), organic food (vegetables from the garden, bread, meat and fish, organic dishes prepared by hand…), advice and training for organic and amateur producers, and all kinds of handcrafted products with sustainable production processes and materials (pieces of art, clothing, accessories, toys, basketry, leather, forging…).

Background

Last April, another FECOART exhibition was held in the city of Plasencia, also in Cáceres, in which more than forty exhibitors from the ecological and artisanal sectors exhibited their products.

In this April meeting there was also a series of Technical Conferences on Agroecology as a model of local development, aimed at producers, distributors and consumers of organic food, and in which entrepreneurs, experts and professionals from this sector took part.

It is expected that parallel activities like this one will also be organized in this new edition of the Organic and Artisan Products Market. As soon as I have more news I will post the information here.

Prices for exhibitors are not too high: from €116 for the smallest Stand -4 square meters-, to €348 -for 12 square meters-, and they include the modular stand with a labeled front, lighting, plugs and a insurance that covers Civil Responsibility, theft and fire (all during the three days that the Market will last). In addition, if you reserve your stand before July 1 you will have a 10% discount.
